The Climb To Huayna Picchu Is Not For The Faint Of Heart

Huayna Picchu mountain in Peru boasts some truly great views of Machu Picchu. However, the journey is not one to be taken by the faint of heart.

The precarious mountain, dubbed the ‘Stairs of Death’, is extremely steep. The pathway is often exposed. From November to April, during the rainy season, it’s extremely slippery. Huayna Picchu is about 260m higher than Machu Picchu, at the height of 2,693m above sea level. However, the reward for having made the climb is truly spectacular, as you get a stellar view of the lost city.
