Mother And Daughter Are Reunited After 23 Long Years
Brandy Chapman’s mother suddenly disappeared when she was just 12 years old. Brandy went her whole life not knowing what happened to her mother. 23 years later, they were finally reunited.
Shelly Jennings was a mother who, after dropping her kids at their elementary school one day, just disappeared. This was back in 1993.
“I haven’t seen her since, nobody heard from her, she kind of just fell off the grid,” Brandy said.
It seems Shelley had been fighting a severe battle with mental illness which soon got the better of her. She wandered the streets of the country with her severe mental condition, homeless and unidentified.
Her family was naturally heartbroken. They had no means of finding out what really happened. But 23 years later Brandy received a news that would eventually see the mother-daughter duo reunited.
Shelley had recently been released from county jail, and that information made Brandy take to Social Media to help find her mother.
She created a Facebook Page dedicated to tracking down her mother.
Shelley was then identified by a policeman outside of a bus depot near Sacramento, CA.
The police officer immediately contacted Brandy, and the daughter was reunited with her mother over phone for the first time in 23 years.
Brandy has brought her mother back home to Oklahoma where she can get the much-needed help she needs.
To quote Brandy, “I just want to take it one day at a time and have my mom back in my life.”
