iPhone 8 Might Be Larger Then 7 Based on Leaked Mold

The iPhone lineup for 2017 by Apple will very likely be the most ambitious and most unique that the company has done so far.

It is a common belief in the technological world that by September, Apple will have three brand new models of iPhone ready to be released. These include the iPhone 7s, iPhone 7s Plus, and the iPhone 8, which is eagerly awaited by fans.

In regards to the iPhone 7, the iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus will have the same form. However, the iPhone 8 will sport a totally new design, which will feature an advanced 5.8 OLED display that will run from edge to edge and encompass the whole front end of the phone. Rumors have been floating around that claim the bezels surrounding the display will be 4mm around in total.

It is theorized that the final design for the iPhone 8 will be decided by June, which means that we will likely see an increased number of leaked moldings of the iPhone 8, as well as an increase in schematics as the weeks and months before the release of the iPhone 8 get shorter. Today, Slashleaks pointed out a fairly new group of photos that were originally found on Weibo that illustrate the three molds for each iPhone to be released later in 2017.

The molds do not give a large amount of information on the lineup, but they do offer suggestions to the sizing. For instance, the iPhone 8 will possibly be taller than the previous version. Previous documents and reports have suggested that the iPhone 8 is set to utilize a display that that matches the iPhone 7 Plus, but still has the form of an iPhone 7. However, the iPhone 8 could potentially be a little bit larger if we look at the molds as if they were set up in uniform.

Something else significant is that the camera module is placed vertically in regards to the iPhone 8, which matches many of the leaked designs and schematics that have appeared over the last few months.  This could possibly be due to the rumored features involving Augmented Reality that Apple may show off late in 2017.

It has been said that the iPhone 8 is designed with one large piece of glass, something that has led to the belief that Apple with use the Touch ID sensor in the actual display. While leaks that have appeared earlier have shown a cut-out to house the sensor for Touch ID on the back, the majority of people believe and suggest that the conclusive design for the iPhone 8 will depict more elegance and cater to its user more easily.

In regards to the release date, most credible sources suggest that the date is not getting pushed back, as some rumors have stated. Instead, the iPhone 8 release will be in September, along with the other lineup releases.

In terms of pricing, Apple intends to charge $1000 for the entry-level iPhone 8, which features 128GB. For the 256GB model, which has more storage, the retail price is said to be $1,099.
