How To Make The Perfect Motorcycle Diaper Cake
If you’ve ever had babies or know people who’ve had babies, you would know that one of the biggest essentials for them is diapers. Lots and lots of diapers.
That’s why diapers make for the best baby shower gifts of all time. However, they don’t look too glamorous as gifts, so you should do something about that.
That’s where DeAndra and her crafts come in.
She crafted a centerpiece for a baby shower that looked like a motorcycle made entirely of diapers!
Diaper cakes are already pretty popular, but this motorcycle diaper cake is a whole different thing altogether.
This motorcycle diaper cake is made using diapers, blankets, bibs, booties, and all other baby essentials. The motorcycle diaper cake can then be topped off with a stuffed animal toy as its proud rider! DeAndra went for a little toy monkey, but you can use any animal you like!
The baby shower is bound to be a success with such a practical and awesome gift! Read on to find out how DeAndra made the motorcycle diaper cake.
DeAndra started out with adhesives and baby essentials.
You need about 34 packs of Pampers diapers, a cake pan, some rubber bands, and some ribbons.
You also need bibs, booties, a stuffed animal, and some blankets.
Using the cake pan as a mold, you can create the wheels.
About 17 diapers will do the trick in an 8-inch pan.
You can repeat the process twice to create two wheels.
The diapers can be bound together with ribbons so that they don’t come undone.
You can use decorative ribbons to make them look colorful and lively!
Once the wheels are done, you can use the opening in the centre to attach the rest of the motorcycle diaper parts.
A blanket can be rolled up and tucked into the openings.
A pin can be used to secure the ends and keep all the diapers and blankets snug and well packed.
However, be sure to warn the recipients that you’ll be using pins!
Another set of blankets can again be rolled and threaded through the front wheels to create the handlebars.
Then the bibs can be used as the front fender.
The handlebars can then be held together on top with a ponytail holder.
A milk bottle can be used as headlights and stuffed into the centre of the triangulated handlebars.
A toilet paper tube can be sliced in half and stuffed into the handlebar blankets so that they remain firm.
The booties can then be used to cap the handlebars.
Another bib can be placed over the rear wheels to create the seat, and then a stack of blankets can be used against the front of the bike.
Finally, it’s time for the rider to climb on!
DeAndra used a monkey, but you can use any animal, even a baby doll!
The hands can be put in place and held together with some double sided tapes.
If you have any additional diapers and blankets left over, you can wrap them up and use them as a stand for the motorcycle diaper cake!
You can never have too many diapers, right?
DeAndra was inspired by another blog, and she acknowledged that, saying, “I was able to create the easier, sweeter, cooler diaper motorcycle that had a bigger WOW factor than a regular diaper cake, in my opinion, of course.”
In all, DeAndra said the craft took her about an hour to complete.
